Students Get Real-World Experience with the Future of Tech
LOS ANGELES, June 28, 2018 (Newswire.com) - Prosum – a managed services provider operating in five cities across the US – is proud to announce the successful conclusion of its first STEAM Summit in Silicon Beach, California. More than 100 students from the Los Angeles Unified School District STEAM program – which stands for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics – traveled to the Microsoft Technology Center, where they interacted with advanced technology and received practical advice for their future careers.
“It was exciting to see the students so engaged,” said Prosum Co-CEO Ravi Chatwani, who delivered his keynote speech on human potential and self-leadership. “They want to succeed, and we feel privileged to play a part in helping them achieve their goals.”
After the keynote, participants enjoyed two of four workshops led by Prosum’s partners at Microsoft and LinkedIn. Students learned vital skills that equipped them to succeed in the job interview process, as well as build their personal social media brands and network with mentors online. Microsoft provided students the opportunity to immerse themselves in next-level virtual reality (VR) headset technology and offered coding lessons that participants then used to create mobile apps in groups.
Although this was the first official STEAM Summit, Prosum has worked within the community for four years to motivate students to pursue fulfilling careers in the tech industry. The Prosum team looks forward to inspiring the next generation of technology visionaries and leaders at future STEAM events.
